Cranial-Sacral 135 hours
Cranio-Sacral Therapy is a therapeutic modality that offers specialty training for the body worker. The cranial technique helps the student learn to use light-touch palpation to ‘listen with their hands’ to the body’s subtle rhythms and to get into harmony, resonance and rapport with the fluid nature of the body. Students learn a protocol to address the bones and membranes that surround the central nervous system. They expand their therapeutic presence as they learn to approach the client using healthy boundaries, honoring the client’s individual healing process, and creating a relationship that is non-invasive and client centered. The course uses lecture, demos and hands-on practice to help students learn to follow the body’s inherent movement patterns to facilitate the release of energy blocks and correct imbalances in the body. Cranio-Sacral Therapy training is designed to enhance your massage career and further your own personal growth and development. Renaissance offers all levels of Cranio-Sacral Training-Cranial 1, Cranial 2, Advanced Cranial, SER (Somatic Emotional Release), Visceral, and the 5 day Cranial Retreat held after each quarter when available. We are the only school in Utah to offer this complete training.
Advanced Lymphatic Massage 20 hours
Lymphatic massage is a technique used to encourage lymph flow in the body. Lymph is the clear fluid produced by the lymph nodes, located in the neck, chest, underarms, groin, and abdomen. A healthy flow of lymph supports the body’s immune system in fighting off toxins responsible for viruses and infection. The lymphatic system — comprised of 500 to 600 lymph nodes, in addition to the spleen, tonsils, thymus, and adenoids — is the body’s filter system for dangerous toxins and disease-promoting bacteria. For this reason, the health of the lymphatic system is crucial to the body’s ability to heal. The potential benefits of lymphatic massage — or lymph drainage — include, but are not limited to, decreased joint pain and the pain of arthritis, mood and energy enhancement, infrequent infections, and improved skin conditions. It may also alleviate migraines and menstrual cramps. The focus of this massage is primarily on the upper body, including the face, neck and underarm regions. Typically, the touch is incredibly light, as the lymphatic vessels are located directly beneath the skin and respond to .5 to 8 ounces of pressure per square inch (about 6.5 square centimeters). This light application of pressure mimics the natural rhythm of the lymphatic system, resulting in a simple, non-invasive encouragement of lymph flow.
Visceral Manipulation 20 hours
Visceral Manipulation enables you to feel the movement of the organs of the body. Taught by Diana Young, LMT – Visceral Instructor in Utah. This course is not taught at any other school.
Aromatherapy 20 hours
Today, aromatherapy is one of the most popular of all complementary therapies, offering a wide range of highly effective treatments to both the acute and chronic stages of illness and disease. At the same time, regular use of aromatherapy treatments and home-use products can help to revitalize the body. One of the reasons that aromatherapy has been so hugely successful is because it uses a holistic approach, whereby the aromatherapist takes into account a persons medical history, emotional condition, general health and lifestyle before planning a course of treatment. The whole person is treated – not just the symptoms of an illness – and this is in direct opposition to the modern trend of just treating the presented condition. Backache, irritable bowel syndrome or headaches, for example, are often the result of stress and not actually a physical problem. By looking at the causes of the stress and providing treatments to ease and manage it, the aromatherapist will help the condition.
